WAMI: Sustainability Report
This sustainability report highlights the B-Corp recognized practices of WAMI, Water with a Mission, through washes of watercolors and bright color that lead the reader through the different aspects of the company’s beliefs and mission.
Watercolor Accents & Illustrations
A sustainability report brought to life with washes of watercolors that make the headings pop, full-washes of texture to contrast a bold, white sans-serif type, and smaller watercolor mountain range illustration to balance out the brighter colors. These elements supported the existing brand of WAMI (Water with a Mission), while putting my own creative touch on the report.
Texture
With books, the tactile elements are always a key aspect of the design. Having watercolors a major highlight throughout the book, there needed to be another element to balance it out and add more depth. I chose a linen textured stock for the cover, and a laser cut logo to reveal the spread beneath it.
Challenges and Process
As a newer company, and one that is based in Italy, it was difficult to fine decent photos and an abundance of information about the company, but I was able to dig deep through their website and various news articles or posts about the work they had done. A large part of their work is helping bring clean water sources to villages that don’t have that available through the sales of their water bottles. To highlight that work and the places they had been, I had several spreads marking the location on the map of Africa and excerpts of quotes from people who had been impacted by their work.
